Got a specimen that you’re particularly proud of?

I can help you with that! But first, there are a few things to check before it can be considered for taxidermy, like:

  • Have any bugs set up camp on it?

  • What colour is it’s belly? (hopefully not teal!)

  • Is fur already falling off it?

  • When was the trap last checked?

Things like trap marks, broken bones, and wonky eyes don’t make much difference as these are usually reversible, replaceable, or not used in the final mount.

Once collected from the trap, it will need to be popped into a (labelled) bag or container and frozen as soon as possible - feel free to do this before sending photos if that’s easier.

When you’re ready, send me an email, let me know that you’re a back yard trapper, and fill me in on your ideas on how you would like to have the specimen posed. Once we’ve got all those details clarified, I will provide a quote.

I know backyard trappers are doing incredible mahi - and I’d love to help celebrate it! I will also donate one tree for each finished commission through Trees That Count. You can see how I’ve been doing here.
